Description:
Rifaximin 400 mg is a broad-spectrum, gut-selective antibiotic that acts locally in the intestines with minimal absorption into the bloodstream. It inhibits bacterial RNA synthesis, helping eliminate harmful intestinal bacteria while preserving systemic exposure. It is effective in treating bacterial infections of the gastrointestinal tract and reducing bacterial toxin production.
Indications:

• Acute infectious (bacterial) diarrhea
• Traveler’s diarrhea caused by susceptible bacteria
• Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO)
• Adjunctive treatment in hepatic encephalopathy (to reduce ammonia-producing gut bacteria)
• Used in selected cases of irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea (IBS-D), as prescribed by a physician.
  Dosage:

Take as directed by your physician. The dose and duration vary depending on the condition being treated. Swallow the tablet whole with water, with or without food.
